Vilde Tuv has showed herself as the most exciting alt-pop act from Norway. As a first mover, shape-shifting between sound worlds, she amazes a growing audience, carving out new spaces for authentic expression. Her unique take on trance music, squeezing the emotional potential of the synthesizer and adding tactile human gestures, won her rave reviews and a Norwegian Grammy through her latest album Melting Songs (2021).
Her new single “Old Stone”, is an epic fantasy hymn, drawing inspiration from genres such as happy hardcore and folk, draped as an EDM-anthem. More pop than ever, but also more uncompromising. If any song can make a stone feel something, this must be it! The single release is celebrated by Vilde Tuvs first European tour this April.
“Through the years I have spoken to a countless number of people who have studied geology at university. I have tried to listen to what they have said, but the information never stuck with me. How was it again, a stone is not alive, but it´s not dead either… In this song I am trying to get a real answer from the stone directly.” Vilde Tuv

Last fall she has been a support act for Smerz European tour, produced a techno EP with BunkerBauer label boss DJ IBON which shows Tuv’s diversity in music. She has previously performed at Le Guess Who in The Netherlands curated by Jenny Hval and Great Escape in the UK and Volksbühne in Berlin. This spring she is doing her biggest international tour yet. In the celebration of her new singel Old Stone, she wil also bring material from Melting Songs, grammy-nominated D´meg from 2016 and new material. When Tuv is on stage as a one-woman band, she is as alone as every single audience member is in the face of her music. Her strong presence spreads to the audience, and halls are often filled with both laughter and wet corners of the eyes when Tuv plays a concert.

Press Quotes:
Poised and regal — Like a sunburst breaking through a rift in the clouds. With gleeful echoes of Enya, Mike Oldfield’s Voyager and Y2K Eurodance, Melting Songs is almost comforting, a welcome slice of Celtic-tinged escapism.

With full control, she is able to enchant an entire church room with, among other things, the neglected instrument the recorder. The contemporary musician finds gold in the intersections she explores. It is intense, touching and liberating.
